WordPress accessibility audit

A review of your WordPress website against WCAG 2.2 level AA, a clear list of what needs fixing, and the fixes themselves if you want them.

What the audit covers

Testing against WCAG 2.2 AA.

  • Automated checks on every type of page, at desktop and phone widths and in each colour mode the site offers.
  • Keyboard testing: menus, links, forms and every interactive part of the site.
  • Colour contrast, zoom and reflow down to a width of 320 pixels.
  • Headings, landmarks and images: structure and text alternatives for screen-reader users.

What you get

Issues, fixes and a statement.

  • A clear list of issues found, with the pages affected.
  • Fixes to your theme and content, if you want me to make them.
  • An accessibility statement for your website.

My own sites

The same review I run on my own work.

This is the process I used for the accessibility statement on this website, and I have prepared statements for other websites I have built. I completed W3Cx’s Introduction to Web Accessibility in 2020.

Questions

Common questions

Is the audit a certification?

No. It is an expert review against WCAG 2.2 level AA, not a legal certification. It tells you what to fix and in what order.

Can you fix the issues as well?

Yes. I can fix issues in your theme, plugins and content, or hand the list to your own developers.

How do you charge?

Fixed price or hourly, depending on your requirements and budget. A clearly defined project can have a fixed price; ongoing or open-ended work suits an hourly rate.

How do we keep in touch?

Whichever suits you: email, Skype, Upwork or another tool your team already uses.
