WordPress plugins

Custom plugin development

Custom WordPress plugins and Gutenberg blocks for when a ready-made plugin doesn’t fit, from small admin tools to complete features.

What I can build

Functionality built for the way you work.

  • Custom plugins for features your website needs, from small admin tools to complete workflows.
  • Gutenberg blocks that let your team build pages without touching code.
  • Custom post types and fields to keep structured content consistent.
  • Extending existing plugins when a plugin is close to what you need but not quite there.

Plugins I have published.

I build and publish my own plugins too. Chapterwright publishes online books inside WordPress and is on WordPress.org; Code Snap is a code snippet block with syntax colouring and a copy button.

Questions

Common questions

Should we use an existing plugin or build a custom one?

If a well-maintained plugin does what you need, that is usually the better choice. A custom plugin makes sense when nothing fits your workflow, or when you need it to work exactly the way your team does.

Will we be able to manage it ourselves?

Yes. I build the settings and editing screens around the way your team works, and show you how they work.

How do you charge?

Fixed price or hourly, depending on your requirements and budget. A clearly defined project can have a fixed price; ongoing or open-ended work suits an hourly rate.

How do we keep in touch?

Whichever suits you: email, Skype, Upwork or another tool your team already uses.
